Students with Gang Tattoos Have Option
for Free Removal
Local Business Offers No-cost Tattoo Removal
Service
They can be as small and simple as a teardrop under
the eye representing the loss of a loved one to larger and more
intricate images representing affiliation or membership in a street
gang.
Regardless of the tattoo, local businesswoman, Mary
Arnold, founder and practitioner at Professional Permanent Cosmetics (sm) (PPC),
is offering no-cost tattoo removal services to youths wishing to have
gang tattoos removed now through Saturday, September 1st.
“Over the last few years I have seen a growing
number of teens coming to my business to have these types of tattoos
removed,” said Arnold. “I want to be able to provide a service to these
teens who are courageous enough to extricate themselves from these
situations, and the lives they lead and are focused on improving
themselves. Tattoos, especially gang tattoos, can hinder students from
employment and future endeavors.”
While tattoos can be removed by laser surgery,
dermabrasion or surgical excision, Arnold offers a different approach by
using a sterile needs to open the skin, as in a traditional tattoo, and
then applying a sea salt mixture to the skin, breaking up existing
pigments. Depending on the size and pigment of the tattoo, more than one
treatment may be necessary.
“I know that there are brave children and teens
disassociating from gangs everyday,” she said. “I want to be able to
provide a service to help get them on the right path.”
The program is open to all children and teens
wishing to have gang tattoos removed. For more information or to
schedule an appointment, call 702.360.4260.
