No. 1 WHY IS PERMANENT MAKEUP CONTINUING TO GROW IN POPULARITY?
Permanent cosmetics enhance a person’s features, thus creating a better and younger looks. As the “Baby Boomers” age, permanent cosmetics are needed to help them look their best 24 hours a day. Because there is more information about permanent cosmetics available, people can now research procedures and find a technician they feel comfortable with and is right for them.
No. 2 WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON PROCEDURES PEOPLE RECEIVE?
The most common permanent cosmetic procedures are eyebrows, eyeliner and lips. As people get older, and in certain cases at a young age, eyebrows are likely to disappear. Brows are important features that frame the face. Without them, it appears as though part of the face is missing. With time it gets increasingly difficult to apply eyeliner with a steady hand. Permanent eyeliner never smudges like topical eyeliner and makes your eyes look larger, more open and awake. Lastly, the idea of never having to apply or reapply lipstick is attractive to most women. Lips tend to get lighter in color and shrink with age. Permanent cosmetic procedures can add a natural or more intense color to your lips, as well as enhance the lip line.
No. 3 WHO GETS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
About 99 percent of permanent cosmetic patients are women, many older than 40. However, while the majority lies with the women, men, too, seek certain procedures. While a few undergo eyebrow and eyeliner procedures, most men opt for scar camouflaging, to make scars virtually unnoticeable, or skin regimentation.
No. 4 HAS BUSINESS BEEN GOOD IN SOUTHERN NEVADA?
Yes. The permanent cosmetics industry has become much more popular in recent years in Southern Nevada. As the demand increases, more and more people are performing permanent cosmetic procedures in town, so it is important to be selective when choosing your technician. Those interested need to make sure they do their research and check the qualifications of the technician. This is permanent, so it’s important to do it right the first time.
No. 5 WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT LIVING IN SUMMERLIN?
I have been a resident of the Las Vegas Valley for almost 35 years and have witnessed great changes in this city. When Summerlin first debuted, I thought it was too far out of town. Not any more. Summerlin is so beautiful and has so many amenities - now I couldn’t think of living anywhere else.
