Mary Arnold

Mary Arnold-Ronish CPCP is owner of Professional
Permanent Cosmetics, an now Tattoo Vanish, Inc and brings more than 30
years of experiences as a registered nurse to the permanent cosmetic
industry.
Prior to starting her own permanent cosmetics
business in 1992, Arnold had decades of experience in the medical
industry. She began her nursing career in 1969, working in area
hospitals and physicians offices. Arnold also served as a business and
front office manager, and dermatology nurse for a dermatology practice
in Las Vegas. Later, she was the director of marketing and operations
for a large home health care organization with locations in Utah,
Arizona, Nevada and Colorado.
Arnold founded Professional Permanent Cosmetics in
1993, employing her years of experience as a nurse and knowledge as a
medical practice manager to create a quality permanent makeup practice
in the Las Vegas Valley. With a complete understanding of the procedures
and consistently using only the strictest sterilization techniques,
Arnold quickly became one of the city’s most respected in the medical
community for her high quality work.
Since founding her company, Arnold has had
extensive training and continuously updates her skills. Today, she has a
reputation in the Valley as a specialist in color adjustments and
corrective procedures, such as lip color, eyebrows and eyeliner. More
than 70 percent of her practice consists of correcting other
professional permanent makeup technician’s mistakes or working with
their unsatisfied clients.
By being forced into being the “go to person” in
Southern Nevada for corrections, Ms Arnold developed a new and better
method of removing ink or pigment from the skin. With more than 7 years
experience removing tattoos with a non laser method, Arnold has now
launched Tattoo Vanish, Inc.
Tattoo Vanish employs a method of removal similar
to the skin as when the tattoo or permanent make up was applied, thus
minimizing the damage to the skin. This new method has become so
successful that it is now superior to any type of LASER removal. Tattoo
Vanish is less painful, requires 75% LESS treatments for complete
removal, so the cost is much less and is the ONLY method that will
remove all colors where LASER cannot.
Arnold, who adheres to the Clark County Health
District’s requirements, offers numerous professional permanent makeup
procedures including eyebrows, eyeliner and lip color. She also provides
advanced procedures such as scar camouflage, skin re-pigmentation, hair
simulation and areola restoration and coloration following breast
reconstruction from mastectomies or other breast surgery. In addition,
Arnold now offers tattoo removal, called Tattoo Vanish.
In 2005, Arnold wrote and sponsored a bill with the
help of State Assemblywoman Valerie Weber, to raise the level of entry
into the permanent cosmetic profession. After testifying before the
Nevada Legislature, the bill passed unanimously in the Nevada State
Assembly before being dropped in the Senate. Arnold has consistently
fought to raise the standards in the profession and has argued for
tougher regulations in the state, citing that Nevada currently lacks
strict regulations and allows for essentially anyone interested to get
into the profession.
The professional makeup artist has been a member of
the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, an organization
requiring all members to meet the highest standards of safety and
technical ability, since 1993. She also is a past board of director
(2003 – 2006), serving as director of health and safety. In her time on
the board, Arnold was instrumental in orchestrating a special meeting
with the approved pigment vendors of the organization to enforce higher
standards for pigment manufacturers to ensure consumer safety. Arnold
was also responsible for gathering information, revising and rewriting
and researching all of the many references needed to provide a
defensible, non-biased exam for anyone wishing to become internationally
certified as a “Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional” for the
organization. Today, hundreds of practitioners have received this
designation worldwide.
Arnold is also a member of the National Cosmetic
Tattooing Association, American Academy of Micro pigmentation, Las Vegas
Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Woman’s Chamber of Commerce, National
Association of Women Business Owners, Las Vegas Social Register, Better
Business Bureau of Nevada and Desert Springs United Methodist Church.
She also served on the board of directors for My Hope Chest, a
non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for uninsured and
underprivileged woman in need of breast reconstruction following
mastectomies from breast cancer.
A constant philanthropist, Arnold donates her
services to numerous causes. She provides pro bono areola and nipple
recreation and repigmentation for any woman that cannot afford the
procedure, ensuring that their psychological healing takes place in
additional to physical healing following breast cancer. Arnold also
provides no-cost ex-gang tattoo removal to any young person in the Las
Vegas community wishing to start a gang-free life. In the past, she ran
“Smooches for Pooches,” a campaign in which she donated money from lip
procedures to local animal shelters to help defray the cost of care.
An expert in her field, Arnold has written numerous
articles on permanent cosmetics locally. She recently completed a
manuscript, “How to do Lips for the Permanent Cosmetic Professional,”
and “Preventing Cross-Contamination for the Permanent Cosmetic
Professional. Both manuscripts are currently pending publication.
